  1. Solemn opening of a school-chapel dedicated to St. Cuthbert, by The Right Rev. Dr. O’Reilly, Bishop of Liverpool, on 15 August 1880.
  2. Opening of a St. Cuthbert's Church, by The Right Rev. Dr. O’Reilly, Bishop of Liverpool, on 22 June 1890.
  3. Dedication of a new high altar at St. Cuthbert's Church, by The Right Rev. Dr. Whiteside, Bishop of Liverpool, on 22 June 1895.
  4. Visit of Cardinal Bourne to Blackpool in November 1926
  5. Canon Lupton celebrated 47 years as Rector of St Cuthbert's parish on 8 January 1927. His £300 gift was used to purchase two white marble statues for the church.
