- Solemn opening of a school-chapel dedicated to St. Cuthbert, by The Right Rev. Dr. O’Reilly, Bishop of Liverpool, on 15 August 1880.
- Opening of a St. Cuthbert's Church, by The Right Rev. Dr. O’Reilly, Bishop of Liverpool, on 22 June 1890.
- Dedication of a new high altar at St. Cuthbert's Church, by The Right Rev. Dr. Whiteside, Bishop of Liverpool, on 22 June 1895.
- Visit of Cardinal Bourne to Blackpool in November 1926
- Canon Lupton celebrated 47 years as Rector of St Cuthbert's parish on 8 January 1927. His £300 gift was used to purchase two white marble statues for the church.
