On restoration, the inscription and names were filled with black wax. The inscription reads: 'To the glory of God and in loving memory of the men of this church who gave their lives in the Great War 1914 – 1919. Greater love hath no man than this.'
The names on the plaque are as follows: BLEZARD, Thomas, DAVIES, Alan, FOTHERGILL, R Cyril, HARRISON, Frank Valentine, LEES, William H, LITTLEMORE, Thomas, NOBLE, William Richard, WHALLEY, Norman
The church also contained a wooden WWII memorial table which is currently located in Highfield Methodist Church. An inscription is carved into the large front centre panel: '1939 IN REMEMBRANCE 1945'.
