The Preston Chronicle and Lancashire Advertiser on 21st February 1880 contained the following article:
Wesleyan Sunday School – the annual tea party and meeting in connection with the Wesleyan Methodists of Blackpool was held on Friday night in the schoolroom, Adelaide Street. About 250 sat down to tea.
At the annual meeting the pastor, the Rev S. Conks, presided and Mr G. Bennett read a very encouraging report of the school. The Revs. J. S. Balmer, J. Wayman and J. S. Daniels addressed the meeting at some length.
